Course Description
School staff are often first responders in school-based emergencies.
This course is tailored for educators, administrators, and support staff to build confidence in high-pressure emergency response within school environments.
The training includes practical first response skills and scenario application relevant to school contexts.
Unit Being Delivered
HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (accredited CPR component).
The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd - RTO 90909.
Additional first responder content is delivered as non-accredited practical training.
Course Delivery and Duration
School campus, 2-3 hours face to face.
Certificate Renewal Requirements for HLTAID009
12 months.
Interactive Simulated Scenarios
- CPR using DRSABCD with AED use.
- Interpret and apply anaphylaxis action plans and EpiPen administration.
- Evaluate and apply asthma action plans.
- Apply immobilisation techniques for fractures and dislocations.
- Apply R.I.C.E.R. management for sprains.
Assessment Requirements for HLTAID009
- Perform adult and infant CPR including AED and recovery position.
- Theory assessment: 20 multiple-choice questions.
Entry Requirements for HLTAID009
Participants must have capacity for practical demonstrations including uninterrupted CPR and rescue breathing.
