Course Description
The course applies to individuals who will be able to recognise and respond to emergency situations that may require them to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty in a range of situations, including the application of oxygen therapy or oxygen resuscitation, as appropriate, until the arrival of medical assistance. The course is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This course is applicable to workers or nominated workplace first aiders from an industry sector where they may be required to provide CPR and basic oxygen therapy in an emergency situation, as part of their role at work or in the community at large.

Face to Face: 6 hours

Assessment Requirements
Performance tasks and Practical scenarios:
Adult CPR (including defibrillation and placing the casualty in the recovery position)
Infant CPR
Administer oxygen to an adult and child
Documentation: complete an incident report
Theory assessment: a written assessment consisting of short-answer and multiple-choice questions.

Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins
